Is it possible to sort the assignments &/or the quizzes by name or by due date?

Hi @MARYBRESE !

Are you referring to sorting the assignment list, or in the gradebook? On the assignments and quizzes pages, there is not a way to sort items at this time. These items will show in the order they were created or due dates.

Any software developer knows how to develop a sorting function.

You are being gaslit when you read things like, "it's not possible 'at this time' ". Of course, it's possible, and the only reason Canvas has decided not to is that they don't have to in order to stay in profitable business. This is because they don't answer to anyone other than people who have no skin in the game. In other words - they sell to school district administrators who couldn't care a hoot about the actual UX of students or their parents. Canvas has been implored to provide this basic feature for a number of years, but has silently declined by their lack of action.

I have to concur. Sorting, searching... these are required functions / obvious advantages of any computer-based system. Having said this, I still prefer Canvas.

I just received an email from Instructure with "A reply to a topic you are following has been accepted as a solution!". While informative, it isn't a solution: there's still no way to sort (e.g.,) quizzes by date, alphabetically, or by any other criteria.
