Is there a way to turn off assignments for students only?  I use modules but some students go immediately to assignments and there are things there that I don't want students to use.  If they couldn't see assignments that would solve my problem, but I still need to see it.

Hi Pam,

Yes, you can control this!  If you go to the course settings one of the tabs will let you control which course navigation elements you want visible to students.  Simply drag the Assignments tab down out of the available list.
