[ARCHIVED] Best Role for Sharing Content

I'm looking for the type of role (TA, Observer, etc) that can copy my shell content but not make any changes while they are in my shell.

I'm a librarian who is building a shell of library modules. I want to allow other faculty into the shell so they can preview the modules and also copy them into their own courses. However, I'd prefer that they not be able to make any changes. Is there a role that will allow both?

Canvas roles and permissions are not particularly granular, as you might already be aware.  There is no role that will let them copy, without also letting them edit.

Your best best might be a two-step process.......

• Enroll them in any role that will let them evaluate the content,
• Then download your course as an export file How do I export a Canvas course? You can distribute the export file however works best for you.

Your faculty can then choose the specific modules they want  when they import your Canvas export file https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13101-4152497985
