[ARCHIVED] Can an instructor turn in an assignment on behalf of a student?

I teach elementary school and students or parents will often email me their assignment file if they are having trouble submitting through canvas. Is there a way for me to submit these files on their behalf so I can have them all in one place? I saw a thread on this topic from 4 years ago that said the capability was being developed but couldn't find an update.

Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to do this within Canvas.  Here are a couple past questions I have helped to answer on the same topic:
