The Canvas FastTrack Video series is a collection of quick videos aligning Canvas with Dr. Puentedura’s SAMR Model of Technology Integration.  This model has been used by many institutions as a framework for infusing technology into teaching and learning activities.  In the video collection we will dive into the various tools in Canvas and how they align with the SAMR Model of Technology.  Watch this four-minute video introduction to SAMR if you aren’t already familiar with the model.

Episode 26 is a 2 1/2 minute video about quick feedback via quizzes at the Modification level of Technology Integration. "When people are trying to learn new skills, they must get some information that tells them whether or not they are doing the right thing. Learning in the classroom is no exception. I appreciate pointing out how feedback can be automatic and direct students to the correct concepts.  This could be used for flipping instruction and as you mentioned differentiating instruction.  Once again, careful planning is a key here - and building the bank of questions is powerful too.  Recycling questions doesn't have to be an easy way out, but a way to reinforce and reteach information if planned thoughtfully.

Many teachers and instructors have their personalized tool kits of learning objects—key among them is a large question data bank, organized by subject matter curriculum. In addition to the fields containing question stems, distracting answer choices, and correct answers, are feedback fields containing praiseworthy, remedial, and informational feedback messages. My idea, now open for voting, suggests that Instructure build out its QTI import API so teachers/instructors can import bulk questions (in the form of a csv or tab-delimited text file) with pre-defined placeholders for question type, stem, distractors, answer, feedback, and options for question behavior (shuffling distractors). This more robust API would also be able to handle HTML tags so more readable serif fonts are used in the assessment prompt.
