When a user completes a course, a certificate is generated automatically and is sent to his corporate email.
Many users (not all) are complaining of not receiving any email containing their certificate neither in their inbox nor in their junk mail.
Some users have report that they got it in their junk email
Any ideas why this happens?
Thanks
Andreas
Solved! Go to Solution.
It's possible that the name of your course could affect the "spammy" scores of some spam filters, and that's something to keep in mind. Though, the course title is included in most email from Catalog to users, and the certificate email specifically might score just a bit higher because it contains the word "Congratulations" in the subject. This email is configured for delivery using the same configuration as all other email from Catalog.
Some tips that you can do to help:
We could look at adjusting the English template to use something other than "Congratulations" in the email subject as well, though I'm not sure what else would be appropriate for everyone. I'll bring it up with the product team, but the tips mentioned above would be your best course of action right now.
@aapostolopoulos , can you confirm that you are referring specifically to the certificate functionality that is available through Canvas Catalog?
Yes Stefanie
@aapostolopoulos , thanks for confirming that! Accordingly, I'm moving the question to the Canvas Catalog space to increase its visibility among users who have specific experience with Catalog's certificate issuing process.
Many thanks Stefanie.

Thanks very much. I'll try all and let you know about the result.

I know this doesn't resolve your spam question, but users can always manually request their certificate from Catalog. How do I view the certificate of completion for a Catalog course or program?
Jeremy,
Thanks for this Catalog Guide. I have had some reports that users have completed the course, but no email for the certificate during testing of the course. I am hoping that this will not become a big problem as we move forward with releasing courses. We are relying heavily on the certificate feature in Catalog.
I am still having this problem. Has anyone found a solution?
