[ARCHIVED] Change course title

How do I change the title name of the course in the far upper left hand corner (it's in blue).  I've been able to change the title everywhere else except here.  It should read 6th/7th Grade Mathematics.

Hello  @snunnjo1  Thank You for posting your question.  It looks like, based on the URL in your screen shot, you may be using Canvas Free for Teacher (FFT).  I don't have a FFT account, but I believe that you should be able to change that course title via your course "Settings" button.  Check out this Guide to see if it helps you: How do I change a course name and course code?.

Wow, thanks for the fast response! So I was in the right spot, it looks like - maybe I don't have the permissions. Screen shot attached - am I right? Are those permissions course specific or account specific?

Yes,  @lafferty_bobbi ‌, you're in the right spot, and the key is this line at the top of the lesson:

If you have permission from your admin, you can change your course name and course code in your course Settings in Canvas.

So if you're not able to change the course name, it means that the local admin has disabled that ability for the teacher role, most likely because they manage course naming and provisioning on behalf of all teachers across the district. You'll need to contact the Canvas admin for the district or the eLearning department to request the change.
