[ARCHIVED] Changing a teacher and make inbox messaging available to past students

Hi Canvas Community, 

Our program hosts self-paced/open enrollment courses that function by creating a new section for each student's course timing. 

In doing this, in order for the student to be able to message their teacher, the teacher has to be added to each student's section upon registration. 

One of our courses is going to be having a teacher change really soon. Is there a way that we can add the new teacher to the sections in bulk so student's can message them? All the sections are named the same so adding the sections manually in the "People" tab would be difficult..

i understand you want to find a way to bulk enroll a teacher into some sections. 

The easiest way to do this IMO would be to run an Enrollments.CSV as a SIS import. You can specify the teachers information, their Role(teacher), Status, and section ID for the course you want to do this in and it will place them in the sections as a teacher.
