I enrolled with Canvas as a teacher. I have set up a new course that has multiple teachers. I am the designer, but there is no designer option. However, I can change the role of everyone else in the course to teacher, observer, student, or designer. Why are my role options limited?

Canvas roles, for the most part, are set at the course level. Canvas comes with a default set of roles that can be assigned to users in a course. However, your school's Canvas Admin also has the ability to create custom roles. "Designer" is not a default role. You will need to request that role be created by your Canvas Admin with an appropriate level of permissions.
