We have assigned 20% to class participation. I am trying to enter the class participation grades into Canvas (Gradbook) but am not allowed to enter values

Any guidance?

Hi Arachna,

Have you created an actual "Class participation" assignment, or have you just created an assignment group and set the assignment group to be worth 20%?  You must create an actual assignment in order to enter a grade for class participation.

I created an assignment group and allocated the percentage of the course grade that I wanted to count for class participation - for example, 20%. I then created an assignment that does not have a submission. In the text box I explained how the participation grade was calculated. This assignment can then be updated as frequently as desired throughout the duration of the course allowing students to track their class participation grade.
