Hi all, I am designing a math 9 course and I want it to be collaborative. I started designing under new quizzes because you can share item banks with other Math 9 teachers. However, when building quizzes, you have to manually select the questions unlike how question banks and groups allow you to do so. However, you can't share question banks or groups (unless I've missed that) and you can't "find" question bank/group questions in your item bank. This feels very cyclical and I'm wondering if there is a better, more efficient way to have a collaborative bank from which teachers can draw questions for assessments. Thank you
You're correct that sharing wasn't possible in the Classic Quizzes engine the way it is with Item Banks in the New Quizzes engine. You shouldn't need to use both, however—if you're satisfied with how New Quizzes work, you can build all your quizzes in that engine. Or are you asking if there's a way for instructors who have already created Classic Quizzes to share their questions? The answer to that is no, but migrating the Classic Quizzes to New Quizzes and banking each question will fix that problem.
It sounds like you're asking for a way to combine the two quiz engines, which might not be possible, and if it is I doubt Canvas is going to prioritize it—they're going to start deprecating the older quiz engine soon.
