[ARCHIVED] Count an Assignment as Attendance

Our school district is doing a hybrid virtual/in-person model for some of our buildings. For virtual days, students have until 11:59p that day to submit their 'exit ticket' assignment.

Currently, our instructors then have to wait until the next morning to check who successfully submitted their 'exit ticket' and then manually set yesterday's attendance based on who turned in the assignments.

Is there a way to automate this process? Where if a student goes to their 'exit ticket' assignment and successfully submits their work before 11:59P that day, it would automatically update the roll-call attendance to Present?

Sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here in the Community for quite some time without a response.  Unfortunately, I do not believe this is possible in Canvas.  It sounds like an interesting idea though.  Would you be willing to submit it as a Feature Idea to be evaluated as an enhancement to Canvas?  In order to create a Feature Idea, you can click on the PRODUCT menu from any screen here in the Community, and then select IDEA CONVERSATIONS.  Then, click on the "Suggest an idea" button on that page.  Here are a handful of Guides to help you with creating your idea:
