How do I delete a student assignment submission that a student mistakenly submitted to the wrong area?

Welcome to the Canvas Community!!!

Currently, you cannot delete a student assignment submission.  What you will need to do is re-open the assignment (if it is past the until date) and then have the student simply resubmit the correct file.

Does this solution only work after the due date or can I intervene earlier?

This would really be a great feature to add, at least for admin to be able to remove student submissions. Last spring, we had a student account that was hacked & the hacker uploaded pornographic images to the assignment, and the student & teacher both wanted these removed, however as admin, I was not able to help them. This is ridiculous that we don't have the ability to remove offensive content when they are submissions to assignments! I can have the Canvas tier 2 help level do this for me but why can't I do this as admin? anyway, just had to vent....
