[ARCHIVED] Discussion Board Post Count by Student

I know how to find the total number of posts that exist in a course, but how do I find out how many posts each student has in a course. One of my instructors wants to see the total post count. There used to be a statistics report we could run in our old LMS that would break posts down by student. Is there a way to do this in Canvas?

You might want to take a look at this Canvancements - Canvas Enhancements by @James called How to Count Student Discussion Posts.  He's got a full write-up along with a short video tutorial on how you can do this for your own course.  If you have questions about it, I would recommend that you post those directly to James' blog so that he can address your comments/concerns.

This functionality should be a default option on the Canvas front end.  It's not an obscure wish.

Every single quarter I have to re-teach myself the whole API thing. It really irritates me that I can't get this as a simple report directly from Canvas. Is anyone aware of other places to "vote" for this functionality? This is one of the top features I miss from D2L.
