[ARCHIVED] Does Canvas have an annotation tool for students?

I'd like my students to be able to annotate and highlight as they read. Does Canvas have any way for students to do that within content pages or embedded pdfs?

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any tools within Canvas that allow students to annotate pages or PDFs while in their Canvas courses.  If this is something you feel that would be a welcome feature in Canvas, please consider submitting a Feature Idea here in the Community.  Here are some documents for you to look through:

Yes, but they may not know it.
If you provide a pdf file for students to download in Canvas they can upload the blank pdf file in the assignment. After they do this have them click on Submission Details then View Feedback. Enlarge the box by clicking the arrow tool. Now they can annotate the blank pdf file. Students must save their work by downloading it from the top left.
