[ARCHIVED] Essay Questions in New Quizzes

New to Canvas and first time posting a question in the Canvas Question forum. An instructor came to me asking for help with the following scenario...

Instructor is using 'New Quizzes' and has incorporated essay questions in several quizzes for several courses and sections. Per instructor, there is no notification that essay questions have not been graded. However, the students see a score for the quiz as soon as the multiple choice portion of the quiz has been completed by the student.

Is there a setting, or a workaround that can be changed so either 1) the instructor gets some kind of notification or visual clue letting her know the essay question answers have been submitted but not yet graded? or 2) the student does not see a grade until both the MC and Essay portions of the quiz have been completed.

@GalenScott The short answer is, no, not currently.  This has been brought up many times in the New Quizzes user group so hopefully it does get addressed.  Here is the timeline for your reference and it contains some helpful links on when certain changes will take place.
