Hi @beenagpatel - We here in the Community do not have access to people's courses, so it's hard to ascertain what the issue may be, and this may be best addressed by someone in support at your institution, but with that caveat here are a few things to double-check. (I DO get this question myself at least 2 or 3 times per term at my own institution).
- Are you using Roll Call Attendance? By default, it wants to be worth 100 points unless that's corrected immediately. One or two absences can make a grade plummet if it's left at 100 points and everything else is 5, 10, or 25 points.
- The usual culprit is weighted assignment groups. First, make sure they add up to 100% Secondly, make sure what you have graded is graded correctly. You said the student is getting 100/100, but it is possible (for example) you gave the student 1/10 or one thing but 19/10 for another? (I'm using extreme examples here, but you get the idea.)
- Could an assignment have accidentally been set to not count towards the final grade? Canvas still allows you to set points for those and grade it as normal, except....well, it does not count.
This really involves you looking up and down each column carefully keeping in mind the point values and the assigned point values for that assignment. If it helps, use the individual view in the gradebook and use the drop-down menu for just that one student and go through all the assignments that way.
I hope some of these suggestions help, Beena. Stay safe!
