[ARCHIVED] Granting an extension in the new Gradebook

I am really enjoying the new enhancements in the updated grade book, including the ability to color code missing, late, and other types of papers.  One of the things faculty commonly do is grant students extensions on assignments for a variety of reasons, but there's no way to color code the grade entry in the grade book to indicate this.  I can code is as missing if it's not submitted or excused if I excuse an assignment, but would like to see the addition of an extension option to code in the grade book.

What a SUPER idea!  Speaking--or typing--about ideas, were you aware or have you regarded posting this within the Ideas area for consideration?   It's true, oh, it's true!  Seriously though, I would recommend that you place this there, where the supposition can gain traction.  Should it make it thru the  Feature Idea Development Process the recommendation will be implemented, and you will have been a vital part of improving the Canvas experience for all its users (Admins, Instructors, and not the least: Students)!

Thanks for the suggestion!  I'm so new here, I've barely got the basics down; I'd never have found my way to Ideas on my own.  I've just copied my original post, and will head over there with it now.
