[ARCHIVED] Have you used Starfish with Canvas?

I'm interested in using Starfish/Hobson's early alert with Canvas. So I'm looking for any feedback from existing users? It has a good review in the Instructure EduApp, so I'm thinking someone had a good experience with it. Any feedback or suggestions would be great! Thank you! Kristen

Thank you for your reply. Yes the Starfish documentation is absent any screenshots.  Starfish has not been able to answer any questions about where this link within Canvas fall and if these sso links exists in all courses

Hi Scott,

Once you have installed the Starfish LTI it will automatically place a Starfish menu option within each and every course for you instructors and students to be able to click on and SSO over to Starfish from. 

If you have any other questions I will do my best to answer them as I know how frustrating it can be getting answers from Starfish especially in a timely manor.

I'd be interested in any suggestions or insights with Starfish as well.  We've just started the implementation process and have an accelerated timeline.  I want to make sure that we are setting everything up correctly the first time!

We are using Starfish but had to bypass the LTI since it did not work with SSO from Canvas. Our login ID, SIS ID and Integration ID are all different and Starfish/Hobson uses either the integration_ID or the SIS_ID fields for authentication; asked for them to use the login_ID and got a big "null" from support unless the community votes and accepts as a change request. Unfortunately we could not change the SIS_ID or Intergration_ID due to some other product integrations. However, information from the gradebook flows nicely and I've seen the Canvas connection in our test instance and it works well.

The last post I see on this topic is from 7/23/19. Have there been any updates with Starfish on this topic? I just came out of a meeting with our programmers and they are looking to connect with anyone having more information as they are working on all our integrations playing well together.
