[ARCHIVED] How can I notify students about missing assignments?

I have some students who have not submitted assignments. Is there an easy way to notify them that they are missing an assignment?

Hello there, @mark_hans ...

There are a handful of places that relate to missing assignments (when your students have not turned in work by the due dates that you have established).

• First, from a student perspective, they can go to the "Grades" page and see any "Missing" labels next to assignments that have not been turned in.  This is illustrated in the Guide, How do I use the icons and colors in the Grades pa... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).  Look at the section about mid-way down the page on "Status".
• Next, from your point of view, there are a couple different things you can do using the New Analytics screen within your course.
  • First, you can run a "Missing Assignments" report.  More details can be found at: How do I view and download reports in New Analytic... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
  • Second, you can use the "Message Students Who" feature within New Analytics to message students who have missing assignment submissions in your course.  Check out the following two Guide: How do I send a message to all students based on s... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) and How do I send a message to an individual student i... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).

@Chris_Hofer gave you some good advice.  However, I can't believe that he forgot about the following:

you can from the gradebook send a message to all students who have yet to submit the assignment.
