I am finalizing grades and trying to use the Canvas attendance function to input participation data, but I don't want students to see every step of this process. In the past I've "muted" the student view of attendance when working out the final scores, but I can't figure out how to do this now. I think it would be easier just to export everything and grade outside of Canvas than to deal with 30 unnecessary inquiries from students about work in progress. In fact, I usually do export everything for final grading for just this reason, but I think I've been able to mute at least the attendance in the past. I can't figure out how to do that now (after having wasted a lot of precious time trying...)
Hi, Ryan,
The previous mute functionality is now identified as a post policy. You can set a post policy for individual assignments, which should work just fine for the attendance assignment. Steps for setting this policy are here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26246-how-do-i-select-a-grade-posting-policy-for-an-assignm...
Hope that helps!
Erin
