Good evening, @laurie_earnhear ...

Pictures can only be added to course cards on the Canvas Dashboard by instructors.  Whatever picture the instructor decides on will show up for students who make that course a "favorite" on their own Canvas Dashboard.  Here is a Guide for you to look at: How do I add an image to a course card in the Dashboard?.
