Hello,  @svante_axelsson . I'm sorry to tell you that the icons in the global navigation are SVG images loaded directly into the HTML, not linked. Other icons from throughout the website, like the assignment, discussion, and quiz icons are part of the Instructure fonts.

For making your own documentation, I'd recommend simply taking screenshots and cropping out what you need.

For those who may see this thread in the future, all the icons can be found in the Instructure-ui library. Click on any of the icons to get the svg code. SVG code can be placed in a plain text editor and saved with a .svg extension. 

If you are building content in the Canvas UI, check out this blog as a staring point and the links therein. Otherwise the icons are available in the link above.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

If you mean:

Q: How do I insert an SVG image into MSWord?" 

A: Click Insert > Pictures > Picture from File. (I'm on a Mac, so the exact name of the menu may be different on Windows.) Then browse to the SVG file you created from the code on the web site.

If you mean:

Q: Is there an easier way to create the SVG file so I can put it into a MSWord Doc?

A: Not that I'm aware of. You will need to click on the icon to get the svg code. SVG code can be placed in a plain text editor and saved with a .svg extension. The instructure.design site was create for the audience of software developers and that audience usually prefers the raw code instead of a downloadable file for MSWord.

Thank you for the link to the svg icons.  However, I teach 1st grade and what I am looking for is something for lower elementary students and parents.  A basic glossary or reference guide to learn what the icons mean.  Is there anywhere to find that info? I have been able to find several "how to" use Canvas for students in upper grades but as you know grades k-2 need pictures and simple words to understand. Looking for something that is student friendly.

I went to https://instructure.design/#icons-font to grab font code and found that the codes do not match the images on the page. I think they mat need an update.
