[ARCHIVED] Inbox -- no rich editor features?

Is there really no rich editor feature for an email in the Inbox?   Am I missing something?  I have no ability to bold, underline or any normal word editing features?

You might be happy to learn that there is a feature idea for just this and it's open for voting at https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1044-add-rich-content-editor-to-conversations 

Personally, I have have not missed an RCE in the 7+ years we have used Canvas.  I simply use my Inbox for one-on-one conversations with a students, and don't need anything fancy. I use announcements for notifying entire class of things, and do appreciated the RCE there.

 @Fursty ‌, that is correct; messages sent in the Canvas Inbox are plain text. (Canvas doesn't have email or an email client per se.) If this is something you'd like to see, please add your support to and join in on the conversation at https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1044-add-rich-content-editor-to-conversations , which is currently open for voting.

Howdy! You are not missing anything. Currently, there is no rich content editor as part of the Canvas Conversations/Inbox. However, if you do enter website URLs into your messages, they are converted to active links.

As a new Canvas user, I am simply shocked at how clunky and faculty feature absent this LMS is. 

This is just another example.
