[ARCHIVED] Is it possible to add the feature "Users - act as" to a Teacher's account?

Is it possible to add the ability to "act as users" to teachers' accounts?  What about the possibility of customizing teacher role and permissions?

Hi rpsimon  From the administrator console of Canvas it is possible to create custom roles for course-level users, see How do I add a course-level role in the Permissions page? and https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12635-421473661.  I believe that only a true system admin may act as another user, but you might find that an admin at your institution could create a custom course role with permissions that meet your needs.  This is linked in one of the pages above, but the document here is also very helpful, https://s3.amazonaws.com/tr-learncanvas/docs/Canvas_Permissions_Course.pdf

I am looking into this now.  We have subaccount admins that should only be able to see their own college's courses and students.  So the "Act As" would need to only apply to their subaccount.  I don't see a way to turn this on for admins at the subaccount level.  @ngarimella
