[ARCHIVED] Manual grade entry

 I want to add columns in Canvas for grades that were generate by paper submission.  I have set up the Assignments.  When I go to Grades I see the columns.  When I click on a cell to enter a student's grade, I am unable enter it.  There is a box with an arrow pointing sideways, and brings up some student information.  I just want to enter a grade.  How can I do that?

Hello  @jlwalsh ...

I just tested this out in my own sandbox course.  I went to my "Assignments" page, and I created a new assignment called "Brand New Assignment".  I made it worth 10 points to accept a file submission.  Once I saved and published the assignment, I went to my "Grades" screen.  I scrolled over to the "Brand New Assignment" column (pictured), and I was able to click in a cell to enter in a point value.  You should see a small text box display within the cell with a cursor to type in a point value.

Another way to enter the point value is similar to what you described...clicking on the arrow to the right of the score.  A slide-out tray opens for the given student, and you can then input a point value there, too.
