Good morning!
I have one student in a course that is getting notices that he is missing assignments and he has submitted them. When I look in the grade book I can see his grades for his assignments but when I click on his name for his grade details it shows his assignments as missing. Suggestions on how to fix the issue?
Thanks for your help!

Hi @kmather
In that situation, what I would normally do is delete the duplicates from the quizzes area. Of course, you will need to confirm that you are deleting the right one by checking Speedgrader and looking for the one marked Missing and with no submissions.
I would also make sure that your instructor understands how to use +ADD to create a new box to assign a Quiz to an individual student. A lot of instructors don't understand this and end up making one of two mistakes:
More than likely, your instructor tried the first approach.
Hi @kmather
What kind of assignments are these--quizzes, online assignments, external tools, etc.? Do you see actual submissions for him in Speedgrader? Or do you just see grades, which may indicate that a grade was entered manually despite him not turning in the assignment?
Hi,
I just went back into the course to verify and it is only the quizzes for that one student and discovered that in the detail view ALL quizzes are marked as missing for ALL students . The grades show correct in the grade book for all of the students. I spoke with the instructor and she manually enters grades for assignments but quizzes are done automatically. I also checked other courses that this teacher is teaching to see if it was an issue across the board with her classes and this is the only one that has this issue, I also spot checked several other courses and found them to be fine as well. One additional pieces of information that I don’t know if will make a difference but she is using Classic Quiz.
Thank you for any help you can provide,
Kathy
Hi @kmather
If you go to the quiz and click "View Speedgrader", do you see submissions for the students?
f you go to the Gradebook and view "Grade History", do you see a record of the instructor manually entering the grades?
When I go to speed grader I see no submission and when I go to Grade History for the quizzes it say grader unavailable, although for other assignments I see that the instructor submitted the grades.
Thank you
Hi @kmather
The grader being not available in the grade history means that the quiz was automatically graded.
Are there multiple quizzes with the same name, perhaps? We've seen that happen when materials are copied multiple times...
Hi,
I just went in and looked at the instructors quizzes and you are right there are two sets of quizzes with the same title and content with different due dates. Is there a correction for this or does it really matter since the grade book itself is showing the grades for the quizzes.
Thanks for all your help

Thank you for your help. I will pass this information along to the instructor.
