Does anyone have a sample parent letter that that you use in your district to send home explaining what Canvas is to your parents?  I would love to have some examples to go off as we create one for our district.

Since we use a few different systems I made a video for parents. It's not all about Canvas but it might help you.

Thanks for sharing!  These were great!  We actually have a video and pdf directions we created for our parents that show them how to log on to the system.  I sent that out to one of my schools and they have requested an actual letter to accompany that information.  Basically they want a letter that explains what Canvas is.  This is brand new in our district this year and our parents don't even know what it is or what it does at this point.

This was very helpful.  We're in our first year of implementation and were not ready to open the system to parents at the beginning of this school year, but we will definitely create a video and some hand outs similar to what you've shown here for next year.   Thank you for sharing.

Canvas Coming Fall 2016

Canvas is the Learning Management System coming Fall of 2016 for Caston School Corporation in grades K-12.  A learning management system, (or LMS), is a software-based platform that provides a framework and tools to facilitate online learning both inside and outside of the school building.

Canvas bundles assessments, grading, state standards, messaging, learning data, and more—while keeping everything simple, easy, and in one place.  Canvas was chosen as the Caston Learning Management System for its wide range of easy to use tools for teachers, students and parents.  Canvas will allow our teachers and students to use our 1:1 technology more efficiently and more effectively.

Information for parents about how to log on to Canvas will be sent to parents over the summer and will be available during registration for the 2016-17 school year.
