Hello, I have teachers that want to print a grade report that only shows the aggregate grades of their student roster. (Not one student at a time but a printout of the grade report of the final grades from all students.) Is this possible? Thank you.
Solved! Go to Solution.
There isn't really any option to configure the gradebook like that for printing. The best option is probably going to be to export the grades, then remove all of the columns you don't want and print from MS Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. You should be able to format things pretty well that way with just the data you want and correct page breaks, etc.

Even though it seems archaic, it is the end of the semester and grades are due to be entered in manually into our SIS. So, now and again, I am being asked how to print grades from Canvas. As of now, I am asking that instructors find the final grade in their grade book and print the screen they have before them. Downloading the excel sheet, or CSV, then cleaning it up involves too many steps for some of my faculty. I really wish there was an easy way to do this.
Cheers,
Ben
Greetings, Has this option been updated? I need to be able to print off a list of students who've completed coursework each quarter. Besides using our Badgr account (connected to each course) is there a way to download a spreadsheet of student rosters?
Nope. When I export the gradebook, I get garbage excel gibberish. Tons of info crammed into one cell. C'mon, CANVAS!
@JonBurt and @DonaldRumsey ...
You do not need to export your Gradebook to get just a roster of your students. I'm not sure if either of you have used New Analytics at all within your Canvas course(s), but you can get a downloadable student roster from there, too. It's a *.csv file that you should be able to open in Excel or even Google Sheets. Check out the instructions in this Guide:
How do I view and download reports in New Analytics?
As you can see from the Guide, there is a report you can run for "Class Roster". There are a few other reports there, too, which you might be interested in running at some time.
I hope this will be of some help to both of you.
