[ARCHIVED] Set it so students see instructor's post before replying

We have our system set up to require students to reply to a course discussion before they see other replies. However, I'd like to put in a post at the beginning of the week to remind them of plagiarism will be monitored in the discussion forums. Can they see it before they post? If not, is there a way that I can fix it so they see it before posting?

Hello @cpemtp I would recommend adding this to the directions which students do see.  There is not a way to have a certain post exempt from the post before you see posts setting.

I have been doing it the way that @nwilson7 describes for years. I use a standardized script, and simply copy it into the instructions for every discussion. I also create a grading rubric with that requirement as a standard.

The discussion question is from the school and a part of the template for those who teach the course. I am not allowed to alter it.
