@PatriciaHill Instructure (company that developed Canvas) has the LMS, Canvas, and then there are features/other products that can be added on by your institution at an additional fee. One of these such products is Canvas Studio (formerly called ARC). Canvas Studio allows you to record your computer's screen and/or your webcam and then saves it to the Canvas Studio server/area. It can then be shared via a link or embedded into pretty much any area of Canvas without needing to also add it to youtube.
Are you in need of this option for a class? There are some free tools out there that will let you record your screen. Several computers even come with them built in already, for example, all Apple computers come with QuickTime which will allow this. Google Chrome also has some free plugins (some are limited to 5 minutes of recording in the free versions) that allow this as well.
Hope this helps!
