Hi @kelly_hayden Welcome to the Canvas Community!
Many paths to Nirvana, as the old saying goes, depending on whether or not your colleague has Canvas, and if the colleague is at your school and even if they aren't. So pick your poison............
If your colleague is at your school, and has a teacher-level account in your school's Canvas Instance:
- You could have your school's Canvas Admin enroll the colleague in your course as a teacher, then they could use the Course Import Tool to copy your content into their course How do I copy content from another Canvas course using the Course Import tool?
- Or, you could export your course, and send them the export file, How do I export a Canvas course? , and How do I import a Canvas course export package?
If your Colleague is not at your school, but has a Canvas account at another school:
- Export your course, and send them the export file, How do I export a Canvas course? , and How do I import a Canvas course export package?
If your colleague does not have access to Canvas through their school, they could open a Free-for-Teachers account; then again, export your course, and send them the export file, How do I export a Canvas course? , and How do I import a Canvas course export package?
Finally, if you are just asking how a colleague can join you as an enrollee in a Canvas course, you are on the right track by sending them the URL and Join code, but this will depend on your school's policy on publick courses. So you will need to talk to your Canvas admin.
As I said, pick your poison!
