The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Our college community currently uses Blackboard, but most faculty are dissatisfied with it. A small group of professors would like to pilot Canvas for a semester for our courses and our faculty collaborations. Is there a way for us to purchase a temporary license to use Canvas in this way?

Hi Anna,
Just wanted to confirm what Kelley wrote about us having your contact info. We'll be in touch.
Thanks,

Hi @akeesey
Bravo! I am also not a Bb fan, despite working in it for many years. I have passed your request on to an Instructure employee who will contact you by DM.
In the meantime, have you and other faculty members tried the Free for Teachers version of Canvas. It is a great way to use most of the Canvas classroom-level features to deliver instruction with no costs. You can learn more at Free-for-Teacher Account FAQ and you can sign up for an account here Create a Canvas Account
Looking forward to hearing more from you and your fellow dissatisfied teachers!
Kelley
