How do I size an image for the course card on the dash board?

Canvas doesn't include any built-in tools to re-size images for your Course Cards on the Dashboard.  Canvas isn't a graphics editing software.  Assuming that you've taken a look at this Guide, How do I add an image to a course card in the Dashboard?, any image editing would need to be done in an off-line setting on your computer.  For example, if you are using Windows, you could use something as simple as the "Paint" program/app to resize your image.  Or, if you have access to the Adobe suite of products, you could use something more complicated like Photoshop.  Or, there's a similar open source product called Gimp which some people like to use.  It's really up to you as to what software you want to use.  Then, just following the instructions in the Guide I provided to upload your image.

To follow up on this, I want to know what the image SIZE needs to be. Depending on the size of your image, it will change how it is viewed on the card so I am looking for what size to make it

Hi there, @CarolynTruchon ...

So I had to do a little bit of super-sleuthing on this one, but I think I have an answer for you.  I was able to look at the past history of the Guide I had linked to above, and I can tell you that before May 11, 2022, Instructure had included the size of the image in the light-blue box at the top of that Guide.  But, on May 11, they decided to remove that information.  I'm not sure why they removed it, but here is what it said before May 11:

"For best practice, images should be approximately 262 pixels wide by 146 pixels high."

Absolute Size: 262pixels X 146pixels

If your image software allows "crop to ratio" then the 262X146 is equal to a ratio of 131:73 (an admittedly weird and uncommon ratio)
This ratio will allow you to crop any size image to fit properly on the Canvas dashboard.
