[ARCHIVED] Students getting around Pre-requisites

Students are able to get around pre-requisites modules in Canvas.  I have the assignments page disabled in my navigation, but they are clicking on the assignment directly from their to-do list and that allows them to go out of order and complete assignments before completing the pre-requisite module.  How can I stop this?

Welcome to the Canvas LMS Community‌! Is the "Assignments" course navigation link available to students? If so, you may need to disable the "Assignments" link from their student view. See this Canvas Instructor Guide: How do I manage Course Navigation links? 

If/Once disabled, the students must find your assignments through the "Modules" course navigation and complete them in the order that they are listed in the Modules.

Thanks Jeanna.  Actually, I've already disabled my assignments from my course navigation and have set it so they can only get through them in modules.  Unfortunately, they have discovered a work-around where they can click on the assignment in their to-do list and access it that way.  Is there a way to stop that?

Great question! Are your Modules locked and set to open on specific dates/times? If so, you can also make Assignments available to your students at specific dates/times.
