Students viewing multiple assignment submissions

I have students working on an assignment that they submitted via document upload, and I provided comments. They then submitted a revised version of their paper (in the same assignment), and now they can no longer see my annotations from the first submission. II know that the instructor can see content from multiple submissions, but is there a way for students to also see content/annotations from previous submissions? I would hate for them to lose access to my comments as they continue to revise.

Hi @rcottrel 

Unfortunately, students are unable to see their prior submissions in Canvas Assignments.

However, I did find an idea conversation in this community asking for just that functionality. You can review it at: Student View: View submissions and comments for all submissions.

Check it out, add your own comments and rate the idea as appropriate.

I completely agree with my friend, @KelleyMeeusen.  In addition to what Kelley provided, if your school had Assignment Enhancements turned on, then students could preview past submissions...according to this Guide: How do I know when my assignment has been submitte... - Canvas Community.  You'd have to check with your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see if they have any plans to turn on Assignment Enhancements.  It's a somewhat new feature, so not all Canvas schools are using it at the moment.
