[ARCHIVED] Submitting an Assignment Corrupts the Local File

I've had this happen to me twice. Last week I uploaded Wk 6 HW Part 2. It was in my Google file stream as a network drive. I uploaded it from the G drive on my Windows 10 PC Version 1909 Build 18363.900. The submission page loaded just fine. It showed me the regular submission succeeded notification in the top corner. I'm getting 25 Mbps upload speed. It's not a shaky connection. I use Google Chrome as my browser(Version 83.0.4103.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)). The issue last week seemed like a fluke. My theory was Google File Stream corrupted the file, and Canvas uploaded the corrupted file. I've been using Canvas for the last five or six semesters. I haven't seen this issue. Here are my file submissions of the corrupted and lastly the reworked document.

I had to upload it multiple times because I didn't think the file was corrupted. I had to redo the assignment. Not fun. I did not want to do that again. So, I started saving my Docx files locally before uploading them to the Canvas assignment page. I tried to download the submission to see if the submission preview stopped working. I saw this fancy little message for the Week 6 Submission. When I open it in Libre Office, the title page formatting appears but nothing of substance.

This week the same thing happened to me! I had the Docx file stored locally. I submit the assignment as usual. The same thing happened to this assignment file.

I'll be redoing this assignment as well. That's why you only see the two corrupted submissions because my local copy doesn't open either.

I don't know what else the community needs from me, but I would be really upset if I had to redo a third assignment.

Please use the appropriate option on the Help menu of your Canvas account to ask a support agent to have a look at this. The members of this forum are happy to assist with how-to questions about using Canvas and its features but don't have access to courses and accounts other than their own. A member of Canvas Support will be able to look directly at the environment and help identify the issue.
