What are groups intended to be used for?

Groups are Canvas' term for what most teachers would call "Teams", when you want a group of students to work on a project, kind of thing.

You can learn more in the Groups Chapter of the Canvas Instructor Guide.

Also in Canvas, you can make what is called "Assignment Groups", which really translate to assignment categories.
