The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
I set up a course. I enter an exam. What's the average? Oh, canvas can't tell me. I have to set up "Analytics" which apparently takes 24 hours. To do what? I can fly to Japan in less time. What is Canvas doing? Why doesn't the average just appear on the gradesheet like common sense dictates?
Canvas is growing to be one of the most feature-bloated pieces of junk ever. I seriously can't wait until something comes along and knocks it off its perch.

Hello @noresponsefromt
While I too am sometimes concerned about feature bloat, I do note that Quiz statistics are available, including an item analysis I regularly use. See screenshot below................
Canvas maintains a very excellent set of guides for users, and you might find the Canvas Instructor Guide to be a great reference.
I hope this helps,
Kelley
I think we all understand how to use speedgrader. We just are frustrated that you can't see average/low/high scores for each assignment in the gradebook. The old gradebook used to show this. WHY DID THIS FUNCTION DISAPPEAR?
