[ARCHIVED] course announcement copy: the faculty picture

I am curious as to why the picture does not copy over? I see a "U" when it copies over.

Does it simply mean no one has viewed it yet?

Hi imlex2u,

If an announcement is copied from one course to another the picture becomes a U and is because it was not posted by a specific person. If you wish to have the instructor's name and image next to an announcement they would need to manually enter the announcement instead of having is imported.

To expand on the great info that you received from @bneporadny earlier today, this is also documented in the following Guide: How do I use the Announcements Index Page? - Instructure Community.  Under the heading "View Announcements", the first bulleted "Note" gives information about the "U" that you see next to some announcements.  I hope this extra bit of information will be of help to you.
