Thanks so much. I have a project where I am to do a thorough exploration of all the delete/ undelete scenarios in Canvas -- obviously, going in and doing it is the main thing, which I am doing, but I realized I hadn’t joined this group yet, so thought it was a good extra resource!!
So, for instance, I read somewhere that “in theory, all instances work the same way when undeleting”; I noted that browser cache, and differences in browsers themselves, the last 25 items are listed in the undelete screen, item is restored unpublished, not put back in to a Module, front page cannot be deleted, and so forth.
I am revisiting the project, and thought I’d ask. Should there be any difference between beta and test and production environment when something is deleted or recovered?
We had an instance that I was not aware of when a faculty member somehow deleted an entire course -- the day that the beta environment was reset -- had we known the day before, we could have brought it back, right? -- but how, exactly, as I wasn’t there -- that sort of thing is what I am trying to establish!! So, if a course is reset - that must have been what he did -- what are the solutions? If the course were still in Beta or test, presumably we could export it, or?????
I am playing in the Beta environment now, will reset a course in the Beta TODAY, and check it after the reset tomorrow -- as well as the Test, as it looks like both will be reset tomorrow!!!
Thanks, and any suggestions are welcome.
