[ARCHIVED] left hand navigation/redirect tool/stay in app

Hi all.  I teach 1st grade and am trying to make this work with these babies.  I would like to have some lefthand navigation links such as archived zooms, daily schedule, links, etc.  I would like these to be able to be clicked on and keep the kids within the app.  They would be linked to existing Canvas pages.  The only way I know how to add lefthand navigation is the redirect tool.  But even when I uncheck "force open in new tab" it still takes them to a browser window with Canvas.  Is there a way to add lefthand navigation to a Canvas page and keep it all within the app? Please help!

Links to sites that are not secure will always open in a new tab.  If you can get your content onto a secure site, it should be able to open without leaving canvas.
