On any work students submitted on 4/28/2021 I get the following message: "error":"document_not_found" when I use speedgrader. If I try to download the assignment it gives a failed message.
I am a middle school science instructor.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Support says it's a known issue that they're working on. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon!
I don't know if you guys got a notification, but most of the submissions should be back and working. If they're not showing in speedgrader, they should be available for download now. All of mine came back in one of those two forms, so hopefully they're all back for the rest of you as well!
I am having the exact same problem today as well.
Some of the submissions I am able to download and view, but some of them I can't.
It's only on submissions that were made yesterday. Everything else is fine.
Teachers in my district are experiencing this as well. Is the only answer to have students resubmit?
It struck me today. I had students resubmit, but I got the same error, so that didn't help.
Same with me, I had some resubmit and it had the same error. Can the docs ever be retrieved?
I've also been able to download some to view, but not all.
I am having the same issue today and it is happening to all submitted work. I can't download any of them. I submitted a support ticket and hopefully we can get this fixed soon.

Thank you!
Same here. Not all students but majority.
This still hasn't been resolved and is getting frustrating as I can't grade any assignments that my students have submitted. Hopefully this gets fixed asap.
Still nothing on our end either. Canvas does a great job with customer support (sarcastic) so it might get resolved in a few months.
It seems to have (mostly) been resolved for me, though there are some lingering documents that give that error. I'm wondering whether this has to do with the retirement of GoogleApps (slated for the fall last I checked) in favor of a new google add in. I'm hoping that the free account still has the capability to do Google or Office assignments, but all the instructions I see online seem to indicate you need an Admin account to set it up (something free teacher accounts don't have). Anyone know if these features will still be available next year?
A reply from support:
"Our engineering team is still reviewing this error with Google Cloud submissions.
As of now, we do not have a set time frame, but the fix is critical and we are working on resolving the issue as a top priority."
Well, this still isn't working for me. Have any of you had any luck? I'm at a loss. This is day five of this issue and it seems like nothing is being done.
Same here, their idea of "top priority" and mine are a bit different
