Hello Canvas community!
I'm a new Program Manager at a University over Community Education. I want all of our HR instructors to start using Canvas for their classes. We need to track students progress and review course content.
I'm told that the problem is that in order to take these classes former students have to log into their old account and it causes issues.
Does any one use Canvas for Continuing Education classes? If so, are students/instructors on board? Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Emily
Hi Emily, if I understand your question right, you have issues with old accounts that need to be accessed again by former students. I think it depends on what kind of set up your university uses and whether you use the free for teacher Canvas environment. I would ask your IT department about this.
We use Canvas for continuing education (I suppose you mean with continuing education that students start a new program after graduation?) for both degree programs; it depends on the start date of the continuing education after graduation whether old accounts can be used.
Hope this helps a bit,
cheers,
Gerdien
Hi @ChristineTapia ...
You're going to need to speak with people at LACCD about enrolling in this course. We here in the Canvas Community wouldn't be able to answer your question because we don't have access to your school's course schedules or anything within your school's Canvas environment. Talking with your instructor was a good start. But, you also might want to talk with someone at the Registration or Student Services department at your school to see if they can provide any additional information for you. Good luck!
