A floating red "Canvas Support" button/icon has suddenly appeared on all my pages in the lower right hand corner.
It is annoying like the Microsoft Office Assistant Paperclip was back in the day.
How do I get rid of it?

Hello, @staudingerjeff .
That is not a built-in Canvas feature. I recommend that you speak with the folks in charge of Canvas at your school.
Best,
Nelson

I am having the same issue. The button is right where the SAVE is at the bottom of the screen. SO ANNOYING. I can't find a setting that eliminates it and my school and district do no oversee my Canvas. I have the free version as well. Please help!
I think this most definitely is a Canvas feature as it is in the Free version of Canvas, and it says Canvas Support and goes to a Canvas support page. It blocks the Save button at the bottom of every page. It's in the perfectly bad spot. Originally it could be moved up and down the page, but not anymore.
I am having the same issue. The button is exactly where the SAVE button is on the screen. SOOO ANNOYING! I can't find a setting that gets rid of it. My Canvas is NOT administrated by my district but the free version as well. Please help!

My understanding is that the button you are all seeing is indeed in the Free For Teachers version of Canvas. When I log in to FFT, I see this icon at the bottom right corner of my Dashboard:
When you hover over that button, it does say "Canvas Support". However, when you click on the button to bring up the menu screen, at the very bottom of it you will see "Powered by Impact by Instructure". Impact is a separate product that was recently acquired by Instructure (the folks that make Canvas). Note: EesySoft was renamed to Impact during the transition. For those that have a paid Canvas account, it's my understanding that those schools would have to purchase Impact as a separate add-on to Canvas. However, I am not sure why it is part of the FFT version. I just know that it's not a standard "out-of-the-box" feature of Canvas for those schools that pay for Canvas.
I know this might not completely address the question, but I hope it provides some context.
Thanks for this information. Your assessment is indeed correct.
