Canvas Syncing to Skyward Issue

In the past, Canvas would sync all assignments, discussions, and quizzes etc. into Skyward as long as they had points, the correct code, and a due date. 

This year, Canvas will only sync items that have a grade in Canvas. Meaning no other assignments show up in Skyward if they have NOT yet been graded in Canvas. 

This is not helpful for parents and students who like to see on Skyward what assignments are coming up. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I have put in a ticket to Canvas to see if they can reverse this change, but no response yet.
