Changing Assignment Online Submission Type - won't save new settings.

Help!  I'm trying to change an assignment to allow file uploads as well as text entry but it won't 'keep' my settings.

This assignment was originally set up to allow a text box entry but I'd like it to be both a text box entry and file upload.  I've tried clicking on file upload while leaving the text box entry option checked and unchecked.  It allows me to do this but when I save the assignment, it reverts back to text box only.

Please help.  Is there some setting that disallows file uploads?  This isn't my course - I just took over from another professor.

We are experiencing a similar issue - we have assignments currently set to be "File Upload" and cannot add the "Text Entry" option.

We can tick the box and click "Save" but the settings are not stored and then revert back.

Were you able to resolve this at all?

Once a submission is made to an assignment, submission type can no longer be updated.
