I can't change percentages to points--get message "unusually high grade." Duh! Told students to ignore percentage designation. I assigned 30% or 300 points for midterm quiz, so perfect score not 300%!
Was told to click on gradebook and then wheel (circle) on right. But see no way to change this.
Hi @bruce_luske,
Just to clarify, are you wanting their entire course grade to display in points instead of percentages or their grade for the midterm to display in points rather than percentages?
If you want their course grade to display in points, open the Gradebook, scroll to the Total column, click the Options icon (the 3 dot icon that displays when you hover over the Total header), then click the Display as Points option.
If you'd like grades for the midterm to display as points, first I'd suggest verifying how Canvas is interpreting the scores you added. You can do this by opening the Gradebook, locating the midterm, clicking the Options icon, hovering over Enter Grades as and seeing if the Points or Percentages option is selected. So if your student earned 30% on the midterm, make sure you entered 30 and the Percentages option is checked, otherwise scores might display incorrectly. If you entered all of the scores as percentages and the Percentages option is checked, you can convert the scores in the column to points by selecting the Points option in the Options menu. For more information, check out How do I enter grades for an individual assignment as a specific grading type in the Gradebook? Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
