Hi community,
I wonder if anyone here could give me a quick answer here -
Can a general discussion board, e.g. Q&A of the course be accessed by different student groups within the course, which means students can not only access their own group discussion board(s), but also be able to access any generic ones that their course may have.
Hope this is possible to save us duplicating the boards for different groups.
Many thanks.
Kind regards,
Chang

Hi Chang,
The short answer to your question is "Yes."
You can set general discussion forums (we use the term "forums" with Canvas vs boards) than any course participant can access. You can also create groups within a course for a sub-set of students and let them communicate with each other within their separate groups. The groups are designed to be analogous to having small groupings of students in a f2f environment go off in a corner to work together. You can also choose to have discussions post only to specific sections within the course.
For more information I would recommend that you start here.
Cheers!

Hi Scott,
Great to hear from you and many thanks for such a prompt reply. Really appreciate it! We have all our online modules fully online so need to make sure multi discussion channels are all working for students.
Kind regards,
Chang
