Canvas and Mastery are experiencing issues due to an ongoing AWS incident. Follow the status at AWS Health Dashboard and Instructure Status Page
I watched the keynote for the #instcon today, and was told to contact my ... oh, whatever cute jargon name Canvas has for somebody to contact... if I wanted to beta test the branching options to gamify activities and quizzes.
I think I might -- b ut ... I don't have one of those people to contact. Anybody have one they could lend me?
Probably your CSM (customer service manager). If you're not sure who this is then you would want to contact the Canvas Admin at your Institution to find out who this is and how to get in touch with the person. 🙂
Oh, now they stick "success" in there instead of "service," or something like that But of course you're right -- it's not "my" person, it's the school's. Thanks!
Yes, you are correct! Customer Success Manager!! I'm so use to just saying CSM, it slipped my mind. 🙂
We used a totally different acronym when I started - ARM or something like that. When we switched to CSM I personally thought it sounded odd at first but then as I learned more about our industry I learned that Customer Success is a widely used term that has meaning outside our company. If this sort of thing interests you, you might try reading Customer Success: How Innovative Companies Are Reducing Churn and Growing Recurring Revenue by Nick ... - I had a few "Aha!" moments while reading.
Let me just add that I realize this book recommendation is way way down the crevice into which very very nerdy interests lie.
Susan Jones...thank you so much for asking this! I wasn't able to go to InstCon this year - so I may have never known about this! Thank you so much!!!
I suppose someone with a Free-For-Teachers account wouldn't be eligible for this beta testing...
Not at all! Everyone is welcome
Oooh, that's great! @scottdennis , please could you advise on how I can sign up?
Hi Again,
I think I know how to get you added but I'll wait until Monday to ask a CSM just to be sure.
Hello Again,
I found out that that testing isn't quite ready to get started yet but I gave your name to the person responsible for it for when it is time.
Whose name would that have been? If not mine, please include ☺
Oh, and while I'm asking -- how does one make a blog here? I have seen what looks like local blogs, and I've skimmed and scanned and followed dead ends... and I asked but for whatever algorithmic reason didn't get anything...
@sujones , you can create a blog post in any group of which you're a member. For example, here in the Instructional Designers group, you can navigate to the home page for the group, click on the Actions dropdown at the top right, and then select "Blog Post." To keep the discussion unified in a single thread, and after you've created your blog post, you can Share the blog post to any other group to which you belong by clicking the Share link that will appear at the upper right.
All of the "blogs" (actually blog posts) here in the Community are local, as you've observed.
This guide explains how to start a blog post: How do I create a blog post in the Community? As the guide states, "Most groups allow members to contribute to the group blog. But there are some areas in the community where this function is not enabled for members."
Glad I asked -- I was looking from stuff from "my" pages for the obvious reasons...
